Dogs have lived along side mankind for a long time. Some of us keep dogs to help carry out specific tasks, others just for companionship. We have heard of dogs saving lives and performing other remarkable achievements. Our Pet Community aims to bring all dogs and owners together in creating a more fun and friendly environment for learning and sharing.

Girl Mauled in New Zealand Dog Attack
A 7-year-old Japanese girl was attacked by four dogs and left critically injured while her family was visiting friends who owned the dogs. The girl was attacked by four Staffordshire bull terrier-cross dogs and was in critical but stable condition after being bitten 100 times. The shiba inu is moderately compact, being slightly longer than it is tall. It has typical traits of dogs from Northern heritage: small erect ears, thick fur, powerful body and curled tail. Its expression is bold, spirited and good-natured. The gait is light, quick and agile, with an effortless, smooth stride. The double coat consists of a strong straight outer coat with a soft undercoat, imparting great insulation. These traits enabled the shiba to hunt small game through dense cover.

Bold, independent and headstrong
The Puginese's distinguished parentage are two Chinese breeds, the Pug and the Pekingese. Both were bred and highly favored by Chinese royalty, with the Pekingese being owned only by members of the Chinese Imperial Palace. Chinese art and literature abound with account of these two breeds. Long bred and kept by the Chinese, they were introduced to Europe and other parts of the world only from the 16th century onwards, when they were commonly gifted to heads of foreign royal houses.
